Export Delaware has partnered with IBT Online to help Delaware small businesses optimize their websites for specific international markets.

We live in an online world. More and more business transactions are taking place online than ever before. Many internet users rely on Google or other leading search engines to help them find what they are looking for online.

Our partner, IBT Online agrees, “Your prospects, target clients, suppliers, future employees, competitors…are all online. So make sure your website and online presence are the best they can be to showcase your brand and your business.”

Is your website able to be found, understood, and easy to do business with by your international prospects? If it’s not localized and optimized for specific international markets, the answer is “no!”

Consider working with IBT Online to get your website in shape. You may be eligible for Compass Grant funds to help cover the costs. Apply for the Online Global Program by filling out a Grant Application and checking the box for “website localization.”

How It Works

Delaware Small Businesses who need digital help expanding into new international markets are encouraged to partner with IBT Online to develop customized, localized websites.

  1. Apply: Apply by completing a Grant Application and designate that you are applying for funds related to “website localization.” List the target markets (i.e., UK, India, Mexico…) on your application and the amount of funds you are requesting. Apply here.
  2. Award: If your business meets the Grant requirements, and funds are available, you will be awarded a Compass Grant to move forward on the project.
  3. Partnership: Export Delaware will connect you with our partners at IBT Online to begin project development.
  4. Project Execution and Payment: Your team will work with IBT Online directly to create and launch the new localized websites. You will pay IBT Online for their services directly.
  5. Reimbursement: Once the project is complete, you can submit your reimbursement request to Export Delaware per the grant guidelines. You will be reimbursed 50% of the costs associated with launching the new website, up to the amount you were awarded. For example, if the project costs $6,000, and you were awarded $3,000 in grant funds, you may submit a reimbursement request for $3,000 (50% of the cost).
Report Sales: Once the website is live, you’ll begin to see web traffic and gain new leads and sales! You will be required to report on any new sales achieved up to 18 months of your grant award.

Success Stories

Supercritical Fluid Technologies decided to launch two new optimized websites in Italy and Latin America so that more potential clients can find them. This proved to be a savvy export strategy in 2020 when international business travel was not safe, and many international trade shows were canceled due to COVID-19.

“We’ve already seen an uptick in website traffic in these nations. Undoubtedly this will lead to new clients and export business in the future.” – Ken Krewson
