Considering International Sales? Build Your Strategy with Export Training
12/15/2025If you are considering selling your products or services outside the United States, you are not alone—and you do not have to figure it out on your own. Export Delaware has partnered with the State International Development Organization (SIDO) to offer an international sales training program designed for companies like yours that are interested in global markets but lack the experience selling abroad.
The next cohort will be offered in Spring 2026 and will be conducted entirely online. You will be paired with a dedicated coach who will guide you through the program. By the end of the course, you will have developed a comprehensive export plan tailored to your business. Eligible Delaware companies may apply for Compass Grant funding, which can cover 100% of tuition costs.
A Practical Introduction to International Sales
This training program is built for companies that are curious about international opportunities and want to understand what selling globally really involves before making major commitments. You will gain practical, step-by-step guidance to help you assess opportunities, reduce risk, and plan strategically.
Through the program, you will:
- Learn the basics of international sales work and what to expect
- Evaluate which global markets may be a good fit for your business
- Understand compliance requirements, logistics, and documentation
- Explore pricing strategies, market entry options, and risk management
- Build confidence in deciding whether international sales are right for you
- Develop a strategic export plan
This program is ideal if you want expert guidance and a clear framework as you explore global growth.
Program Schedule
This training program is designed for busy sales professionals, executives, and owners. The structure is focused, meeting you where you are in your international sales journey while maintaining a high level of engagement. The program includes four instructor-led virtual sessions, along with pre- and post-training coaching sessions. To ensure meaningful outcomes, full participation in all sessions is expected.
- March 9: Coaching begins with a one-hour pre-training session that includes a readiness assessment, an overview of the training, and a discussion of available opportunities.
- April 7, 14, 21, and 28: Instructor-led training with four weekly two-hour sessions focused on guidance, resources, and developing your export plan and implementation strategy.
- May 4: program conclusion with a one-hour post-training coaching session to finalize your plan, evaluate opportunities and challenges, and identify next steps.
Compass Grant Funding Can Cover 100% of Your Tuition
To make this opportunity accessible, you may apply for Compass Grant funding, which can cover 100% of the program’s tuition fees if approved.
This allows you to build foundational knowledge and explore international sales with no out-of-pocket training costs.
