About the Greater Philadelphia Metro Export Initiative

While Greater Philadelphia has excellent core assets for exporting, it has lagged behind competitor regions on key export and job growth indicators. Estimates indicate that doubling Greater Philadelphia’s annual export growth rate to bring it in line with competitor metros would generate up to 37,000 new jobs in our region over five years. Looking to realize this growth opportunity and take our region’s export activity to the next level, the Economy League and World Trade Center have partnered to bring together business, government, and nonprofit stakeholders for a year-long project to develop and disseminate a data-driven metro export strategy for our region.
