Export Delaware has worked with the owner, founder, and CEO, Dr. Mary Swenson, for the past two years to help her “think global.” Now, virtually her entire business is global. Beth Pomper, Export Director for the State of Delaware, worked with Dr. Swenson from the ground up; developing her export strategy, marketing approach, and international business structure. In 2019, the company was the recipient of the University of Delaware Horn Center’s award for one of the top 17 fastest growing and most innovative companies in Delaware.
My Med Choices secured key global contracts from all the STEP-funded, Export Delaware trade missions/business trips they participated in. Dr. Swenson participated in multiple trade missions: Australia, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand, and Israel. Here, the Export Delaware team, including our highly skilled network of state foreign trade representative offices, identified hospitals that were “Centers of Excellence,” offering state of the art treatment for particular specialties in their market. Business appointments with leading hospital executives were secured, interpreters provided, sales material translated into local languages, and transportation to each meeting was provided by Export Delaware. As a result, Dr. Swenson has secured contracts with some of the best hospitals on earth in every country she visited; notably, Australia’s largest healthcare system, Ramsay Health Care. Ramsay hospitals can be found in seven countries across the globe.
“This was all due to Export Delaware’s successful missions.”
“Telehealth is very well received in these countries and therefore referrals have been made,” says Dr. Swenson, “We are so grateful for the support of Export Delaware.”
